Several repos, one workspace
Pick the repos an issue touches. Each gets its own worktree, all on one branch, with every repo's CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and hooks loaded.
Chauffeur is a desktop app and a CLI for macOS and Linux. One workspace per issue: a worktree in each repo, one branch, one diff, linked pull requests. Drive it from the app, the terminal or your phone — or let your agents drive it.
Sign in to Claude Code and the GitHub CLI, then run chauffeur doctor.
Settings › Clone folders: the folders Conductor used. Your repos, their branches and their .conductor/settings.toml carry over.
In Conductor, commit, then archive the workspace. In Chauffeur, open it on the same branch:
$ chauffeur new --repo web-app --repo api --branch my-branch
Same branch, same commits. The repo you reached through /add-dir becomes a real, isolated one.
Conversations stay in Conductor. Ask the agent for a summary and paste it into the workspace's notes: the new agent reads them.
[scripts] setup = "pnpm install && cp $CONDUCTOR_ROOT_PATH/.env ." run = "pnpm dev --port $CONDUCTOR_PORT" archive = "docker compose down" # Same file, same CONDUCTOR_* variables, # ten ports per workspace.
Before November 13, when workspaces turn read-only: Transfer to local, then step 3. Settings › Account › Export data keeps your history.
Pick the repos an issue touches. Each gets its own worktree, all on one branch, with every repo's CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and hooks loaded.
Several chats per workspace. Ask Codex to review what Claude wrote, or the other way round, without leaving the workspace.
Review every repo's changes in one view. One PR per repo, each linking the others, merged in order from the app.
An agent can start a child workspace per sub-issue and follow it with chauffeur new --parent. Their questions come to you.
Archiving stops every process, keeps uncommitted work for 30 days and removes every worktree — including the ones agents created on their own.
Move a workspace to a VM in your own GCP project and bring it back. Agents keep their sessions; backups are encrypted in your bucket.
Follow your agents, answer their questions and send them work from your phone, over an end-to-end encrypted relay.
iOS and Android, coming soonDesign chats draw screens on a canvas, on Claude Code or Codex. Pin comments, share the canvas live, send the feedback to the agent.
No network? Pick a local model served by Ollama, in the same model picker. Nothing leaves your Mac.
The app, the chauffeur command, your phone and your agents all talk to the same local daemon.
Every command takes --json.
$ chauffeur new --ticket ENG-1374 --prompt "Read the issue and implement it" $ chauffeur ls eng-1374-price-filter web-app, api, infra working $ chauffeur send eng-1374-price-filter "also update the docs" $ chauffeur diff eng-1374-price-filter --stat $ chauffeur pr eng-1374-price-filter $ chauffeur merge eng-1374-price-filter $ chauffeur archive eng-1374-price-filter
Conductor showed how good parallel agents can feel. Chauffeur takes that further, for teams whose issues cross repos.
| Chauffeur | Conductor | |
|---|---|---|
| Repos per workspace | Several, each in its own worktree | One; others through /add-dir on your main clone |
| Worktrees agents create | Tracked and removed on archive | Left behind |

Conductor's dates from its November 4, 2026 announcement. Conductor also runs Cursor and OpenCode agents; Chauffeur runs Claude Code, Codex and local models.
